In this role
In this position, you will be responsible for the integrity of the data that underpins our strategy recommendations. We work on high stakes projects where the evidence must be beyond reproach. As a Junior Data Quality Analyst, you will ensure that the machinery of our analysis remains sound by identifying errors and inconsistencies before they reach a client discussion. This is a fully remote position that requires a disciplined approach to checking facts and figures across various datasets. You will be part of a small firm that values utility over decoration.
The work involves a high degree of focus and a skeptical mindset. You will be the primary filter for accuracy, helping to translate raw data into reliable evidence that senior leadership can trust. This role is essential for maintaining the standard of counsel we provide to our partners. You will work closely with our strategy team to verify the operational machinery that supports every recommendation we make.
About Alpenwerk Group
Alpenwerk Group is a specialized strategy firm that works with boards and senior leadership when the stakes are high and the path forward is unclear. We focus on the difficult decisions that cannot be delegated, providing counsel on strategy, the operational machinery required to deliver it, and the governance that holds it together. We are a small firm by design and we choose to stay that way. We value being useful over being impressive, which means we skip the thick decks and polished presentations in favor of evidence that holds up under scrutiny. We take a long view of success and prioritize outcomes over activity.
The role
You will spend your time cleaning datasets and verifying the accuracy of information gathered during research phases. This involves comparing different data sources to find discrepancies and documenting the logic used in our internal models. Because our work is used by boards to make critical choices, your attention to detail will be the primary barrier against errors. You will also assist the team by organizing raw data into usable formats, ensuring that the evidence remains grounded in reality throughout the project lifecycle. Your work helps ensure that the counsel we provide remains sound long after the initial engagement ends. This role is fully remote, requiring you to manage your own schedule while maintaining tight communication with the rest of the team.
What we are looking for
We need someone who is naturally skeptical and comfortable with technical ambiguity. You should have a basic understanding of spreadsheet software and perhaps some familiarity with database tools, though we value logical reasoning over specific software mastery. You are the kind of person who enjoys finding the needle in a haystack and understands why accuracy matters more than speed. An interest in business operations and strategy is helpful, but the ability to perform repetitive checks with high precision is the core requirement. We look for analytical thinkers who are ego-less and capable of high-level thought without losing sight of practical execution. This is a junior role, so we do not expect a long history of professional work, but we do expect a clear commitment to precision and utility.
How we work
We believe strategy should be built alongside the people who will eventually execute it. This collaborative approach ensures that by the time a recommendation is made, it is already supported by those who have to live with the results. As a remote firm, we rely on clear communication and a shared commitment to outcomes rather than mere activity. Whether we are helping a company find its next engine for growth or restructuring authority to withstand future shocks, our goal is always the same. We provide counsel that remains sound long after the initial engagement ends. We skip the fluff and focus on the evidence that matters.
