Role Summary

We are actively seeking a talented and experienced Technical Manager to oversee a wide variety of customer engagements in their network-live state across IMS Core, Packet Core, Charging, and BSS solution domains. You will have the chance to network with clients, vendors, and in-house personnel while forming high-performing teams of experts for each customer engagement to maximize resources and efficiency.

Mavenir must deliver its engagements to meet the requirements of its operating model, improving customer satisfaction and ensuring customer delivery in a fiscally positive manner. The Technical Manager has full ownership and accountability for the technical management of the customer's network, deliverables, and customer communication, the three pillars of the customer engagement model.The successful candidate will bring strong technical and operational expertise, customer-facing leadership, and the ability to manage complex telecom networks and business-critical platforms in a live production environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • In-depth/Expert knowledge of Mavenir's IMS, Packet Core, Charging, and BSS portfolio of products, including operational support, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to document technical issues in English or local customer language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to manage internal and customer leadership teams.
  • Manage Mavenir's solutions in the customer network with holistic end-to-end oversight, strictly adhering to operational support standards.
  • Develop comprehensive execution plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all support phases, from initial handover through the maintenance lifecycle.
  • Monitor network stability and availability KPIs continuously and prepare detailed reports to support customer governance engagements.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Support the bid process for assigned customers, analyze the economics of operational opportunities, and provide actionable feedback relating to cost-benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  • Propose and implement network and platform modifications, including collaborating with customer and internal stakeholders to plan, approve, and implement beneficial changes.
  • Responsible for customer change management activities to drive delivery of corrective content and new functionality in an operationally safe manner.
  • Drive acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during the maintenance lifecycle through collaboration with customers, team members, managers, and technical leadership.
  • Anticipate future project requirements by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry developments.
  • Responsible for management of customer relationships and operations-driven growth.
  • Manage and support Charging and BSS platforms, including online/offline charging, converged charging, billing integrations, subscriber management, revenue management, and associated operational processes.
  • Ensure seamless integration and operational alignment between IMS, Packet Core, Charging, BSS, and digital service platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A four-year degree (Bachelor's degree or global equivalent) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and at least four years of experience in Network Maintenance, Operations, Technical Support, Charging, or BSS environments.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Expert technical domain skills in at least one of the following areas:
  • IMS Core
  • Packet Core (EPC / 5GC)
  • Charging Systems (OCS, CCS, Converged Charging)
  • BSS Platforms (Billing, Mediation, Revenue Management, CRM, Subscriber Management)
  • Persuasive, influential, and passionate communication skills.
  • Integration and technical support experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized individual with the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and exhibit sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to learn independently.
  • Business acumen.
  • Strong understanding of telecom operations, monetization, and customer lifecycle management processes.

Desirable

  • Five years or more of telecommunications experience.
  • Three years or more of experience in IMS, Packet Core, Charging, BSS, 4G, or 5G telecom networks and platforms.
  • Experience working in managed services, network operations, or support organizations.
  • Exposure to cloud-native telecom deployments and virtualization technologies.

  • Proven UNIX System Administration skills.

  • Knowledge of mobile networks.
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Strong understanding of SIP and Diameter protocols.
  • Strong understanding of IMS architecture.
  • Strong understanding of NFV platforms (Red Hat, VMware, Wind River).
  • Understanding of Mavenir IMS, Packet Core, Charging, and BSS products and their integration within telecom networks.
  • Experience working with HP and Dell platforms.
  • Experience with Online Charging Systems (OCS), Offline Charging Systems, Converged Charging Platforms, and Policy & Charging Control architectures.
  • Understanding of Billing, Mediation, CRM, Subscriber Management, Revenue Management, and Revenue Assurance platforms.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP charging architecture, Diameter-based charging interfaces, and 4G/5G charging frameworks.
  • Experience integrating Charging and BSS platforms with IMS, Packet Core, and Digital Service platforms.
  • Understanding of telecom monetization, charging flows, billing flows, and customer lifecycle management processes.
