SENIOR PROJECT FINANCE MANAGER – RENEWABLE ENERGY – HAMBURG

Are you a senior project-finance professional with a track record of leading large-scale non-recourse financings? Do you want direct ownership of lender negotiations, financing structures and financial closings across European renewable-energy assets?

The Opportunity

An established renewable-energy platform is seeking a Senior Project Finance Manager to lead the structuring and execution of complex financing transactions across solar PV, onshore wind and battery storage.

Working within an experienced in-house finance team, you will manage transactions from initial lender engagement through to financial close. This offers genuine ownership of financing processes, rather than a narrow advisory or modelling-only remit.

Key Responsibilities

• Structure, arrange and execute non-recourse project financing, refinancing and other debt solutions for renewable-energy assets.
• Lead lender selection, market soundings and negotiations with banks and financial institutions.
• Review and negotiate financing documentation alongside external legal advisers.
• Coordinate financial, legal, technical, tax and insurance due diligence, translating findings into workable mitigation strategies.
• Review financial models, sensitivities and covenant analysis; oversee model audits, conditions precedent and closing processes.
• Assess the bankability of project contracts, including EPC, PPA and O&M arrangements.
• Lead transaction teams and support the development of junior finance colleagues.

About You

• At least 8 years’ experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, banking and lending.
• Demonstrable experience structuring and closing complex non-recourse financings.
• Strong understanding of debt structures, bankability, financing documentation and financial-close processes.
• Ability to challenge financial models and evaluate project, contract and financing risk.
• Confident managing lenders, advisers and internal stakeholders across multiple transactions.
• A master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or a comparable discipline.
• Professional fluency in German and English.
